STEP is offering weekly, 90-minute workshops on healthy living through healthy eating.  These free sessions feature fun, interactive learning, ranging from gardening to food preparation, making new recipes and taste testing.  Topics include: healthy soups and stocks, homemade dressings, pastas and grains, classic recipes with a healthy twist, cooking for one, planning meals with seasonal ingredients, and meal planning on a budget.

Bald Eagle State Park Spring Clean Up Day!
Bald Eagle State Park 149 Main Park Road, Howard.8:30 am. Help to keep Bald Eagle State Park the gem of Centre County. Team up with the park naturalist and other volunteers for a day of park beautification and conservation! Projects will include litter pickup and trash removal with gloves and gear being provided. Families, individuals, and groups are welcome to attend! Please meet at the Environmental Learning Center and we will then travel to the cleanup site. A picnic lunch will be provided at 12:00 noon for all those who participate in the morning project. Pre-registration is encouraged but not mandatory by Friday, April 3rd the park office. The ELC will be open starting at 8:30 am with coffee available and for new participants to complete required paperwork. Work will begin at 9:00 am with lunch following at 12:00 noon. 9th Annual Hyner View Trail Challenge & Hyner Ultra Challenge 50K
Western Clinton Sportsmen’s Association, Hyner
8 am – 50K / 9 am – 25K
The 50K, offered to experienced runners only, starts at 8am. Runners are expected to traverse the course in 9 hours or less. The 25K, open to runners and hikers alike, starts at 9am and there will be new cut-off times in place to ensure a daylight finish. Parking

The Eagle Trek

The 6th Annual Eagle Trek is a 12 mile, or family adventure hike to support the Lock Haven Catholic School PTO.  The Eagle Trek will take the hiker/runner on various trails through the beautiful Bald Eagle Mountains.  The 12 mile course has steep climbs and descents with rugged and rocky terrain that will challenge even the experienced hiker.  The 6 mile course is relatively flat with one long gradual incline and rocky terrain.  The family adventure is an easy course approximately 1 mile in length.  It’s a great way to enjoy nature together.  There will be activities that will enhance the exploration of the outdoors.
Pre-registration: $25, family of four $75 (due May 1st), reserves a t-shirt.

The event is a family friendly event that takes runners on a 3.6 mile loop set in beautiful Bald Eagle State Park.  The kids’ race will consist of a mile loop near the beach area.  All proceeds benefit Clinton County Veterans and Team RWB!  In honor of Armed Forces Day, participants are encouraged to wear patriotic clothing.  Race shirt and snacks guaranteed to those pre-registered, limited supply on race day.  Race day registration begins at 11:30am.

RIVERFEST is sponsored by the Woodward Township Recreation Committee and held at the Woodward Township Boat Launch. There will be arts & crafts, games, food & live music. Saturday will have the annual Duck Derby and Cardboard Boat races.  On Thursday July 9, 2015 from 5pm - 9pm the officers of the Woodward Township Police Department will have a tent set up at the 2015 Riverfest for child fingerprinting and take home D.N.A. kits. There is no charge for the service and all are welcome.
