One of the best ways to truly experience Bald Eagle State Park is by paddling our local waters while staying within the unique comforts of the Nature Inn. Fulfill your goal of learning to kayak during this two day exclusive kayaking adventure that you will not forget with Bald Eagle State Park, the Nature Inn, and Tussey Mountain Outfitters.
After checking into the Nature Inn, you will begin your adventure at 4:00pm with a Kayaking Basics class. After learning about the vessel and discovering tips to paddling on the waters of F.J. Sayers Lake, a locally sourced dinner will be awaiting you on the patio of the Nature Inn. After dinner, the park naturalists will lead the group back onto the lake for additional paddling instruction during a Sunset Paddle.
After enjoying a hot breakfast, Saturday will be spent floating down the Bald Eagle Creek. The park naturalists will be along to point out and discuss local flora and fauna seen along the way. A light creek side lunch will be provided at Historical Curtain Village and Eagle Iron Works. During the stop for lunch, park naturalists will discuss the history and importance of the area. The rest of the afternoon will be spent paddling back to Bald Eagle State Park.
Dinner on Saturday night will be on your own, but be back to the Nature Inn in time for an evening screening of the film, “Same River Twice”, within the comfort of the Nature Inn’s library.
Wake up early on Sunday morning for Sunrise Kayak Fishing led by the park naturalists. After pursuing bass, crappie, and bluegill, a hot breakfast will be provided at the Nature Inn to conclude the weekend.
