Leadership Clinton County Accepting Applications

Leadership Clinton County is accepting applications for its 2008-2009 program year.

Leadership Clinton County is designed to strengthen its participants by helping them recognize their leadership potential and identify ways they may use their abilities to create a better future for our community.

The Leadership Clinton County curriculum emphasizes development of individual and team skills. Through a series of sessions, participants learn and practice public speaking, meeting management, networking, boardsmanship, conflict resolution, issue analysis, and other practical tools for community involvement. Using the community itself for its classroom, sessions focus on different issues facing our community such as: Economic Development, Health and Human Services, Education and Youth Issues, Local Government, etc.

Many people want to improve their community in some way but are unaware of their capacity to make a positive impact or how they may be most effective. Leadership Clinton County will provide the opportunities for individuals to develop a network with other leaders to help them in their current and future roles. Participants will explore various issues, institutions and leadership styles. They will develop the skills and knowledge to become leaders in a way that fits with their own interests and personalities.

This 9-month comprehensive leadership development program is designed for any adult living or working in Clinton County. Sessions typically run once a month from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Leadership Clinton County tuition is $600 per person, which covers materials, lodging when needed, and all meals. Partial scholarships are available for those in need.  Applications from people committed to leadership and growth will be due on July 1, 2008.

You can help make Clinton County a better place by participating in or recommending someone to participate in Leadership Clinton County.
